The Journey

Alright, I realise it is very easy to give up or give in. What is not easy is to be strong, be committed and go on in the face of adversity. When you are working hard and building your dream it sometimes looks endless and impatience kicks in. What do we do when that happens?

How about taking a break and measuring how far we have come from where we started? Yes, there is a long way to go, however it wouldn’t be possible if you don’t start the journey. Half the people don’t start the journey. Now since you have started give yourself a pat in the back. Next, think. Think about the car salesman who looked desperate to sell when you went for the test drive, think about the guy who wanted to tell you about his business and sign you up when you were not even properly does that feel? Repulsive!!!

Its the energy they have around them that makes you feel run away. Now imagine yourself frustrated, given up and desperate wanting to do what you want to do. How would that feel to others? Do you get it? Its that easy. When you think of that you know it wont work. Next, change. Change state, your state of being. Ask yourself what space and energy can you be to be able to feel good, feel right, feel happy. That would be a good start.

Let go of the need to succeed, to see the results. They will happen, they will come. Do it with no expectation of the result. Jesus said, “I wish everyone were like little children, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Children play and don’t worry about the outcome, what will happen, who will win. Jesus asks us to be childlike. What are we compromising to be in the rat race? Lord Krishna says,

“Karmanye Vadhika Raste Maa Faleshu Kadachan,
Ma Karma Fal Heturbhuh, Ma Te Sangotsva Karmani”
You have a right to “Karma” (actions) but never to any Fruits thereof. You should never be motivated by the results of your actions, nor should there be any attachment in not doing your prescribed activities.

Easier said than done :) Not really. I am sure there are too many people around you who realise this and have started a different journey. It’s not that easy to ignore them coz they look happier, more content and peaceful. Its about taking a small step and then another one and enjoying the journey rather than worrying about the destination.
